Paul finally confirmed the concert of the year in which he will do a farewell performance to Candlestick Park-the site in which the Beatles held their final concert on August 29,1966.
Candlestick Park has been the home of the 49ers until the end of the 2013 season and is set to be demolished after the team will move to Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara,California.
The concert set on August 14 has finally put an end to rumors and speculations whether the Farewell to Candlestick concert will materialize or not.Several news about Paul planning a farewell concert to Candlestick Park came around months before the said confirmation,with McCartney even talking to San Francisco mayor Ed Lee about doing one historical event in rock music.
Forty eight years ago,Candlestick Park became the site where the Beatles held their final concert before retreating to the studio and retiring from touring.Six years ago,McCartney paid homage to Shea Stadium in New York where the Beatles were also famous for playing before the stadium was finally closed down and demolished.Now its Candlestick Park's turn where McCartney and the rest of the Beatles fans felt some what sentimental on what would be our final glimpse of the venue that once hosted the last Beatles concert.
